Located approximately 45 miles southwest of George Town, Great Exuma, Flamingo Cay is a special find with 232 acres featuring many of the attributes of the perfect tropical island including sheltered bays and powder sand cove beaches. Flamingo Cay has two distinct hills with elevations of 90 and 60 feet respectively offering many fine building sites with panoramic 360 degree views. The island boasts three sandy beaches with one at the northern end, a cove beach, being over 900 feet long. The remaining two beaches flank the western side of the island measuring 600 +/- feet respectively. There are three ponds, two of which have the potential to be opened up to the sea to provide a deep water protected harbour. Vegetation on the island is a mix of native hardwoods, thatch palms, sea grape and other indigenous vegetation. Flamingo Cay is a popular stop over for cruising yachts in the southern Bahamas and is a special find in the beautiful chain of Bahamian islands.
